Welcome

The idea was presented for there to be a place where we could go to find out where and when play date would be held. So we created this blog. Playdate has kind of fizzled out and for those of us who still want it, we need some ideas.

-Did it fizzle out because the idea of providing food for everyone is overwhelming? Would it be best to do a pot luck?

-I know for me, I have a really hard time wanting to host again when there are people that haven't hosted yet.

-I know some people have also said that it's gotten too big. Well today we only had 4 women, including the host. So we need you to come out again.

-Also we were wondering about doing it on a different day. Does Monday work for you or would another day work best?

-We could find out if we could do one or two at the church, once the gym is finished. And when it gets warmer we can go to parks and play in people's backyards.

-Some people have said that they would host if their house was bigger, well I think every one in the play dates house is small, smaller anyways.

-While we are on the subject, any ideas or volunteers for next week?

-Also, do you want your blog listed so people can get to know you better?

Anywho, tell us what you're thinking, we really want to know.

  1. I will be out of town next week, but I would be glad to host it sometime after that. I would love to have it at a park, especially since the weather is nice. I will be glad to do the food!

  2. I love play dates! I love Mondays! I dispise people who will not hold a play date at their house but will come to everyone else's house, bring their kids, and enjoy their food! Boo to you, go home!!:)haha My house is TINY and I made it work. Go ahead and list my blog, but be prepared to be offended, cuz that is how I roll. Maybe we could have mom dates and not provide food, feed yourselves before you come, that's not to hard?? Or maybe just provide a little snack. It would be fun to go places, picnics, parks, swimming at the YMCA or something, but I still like just chilling at people's houses. It's been a crappy month for me so I haven't made it to playdates. I was sick yesterday and next week I will be out of town. However, hooray for playdates is my opinion!!!

  3. Nice job on the blog site! You know I'm in. Any day of the week works for me...I'm usually just at home while the hubby works. With the food thing, I really like Kami's idea of coming already fed or a little snack by the host. I agree with the small house thing..we all have them, that is fine I just hate overwhelming the host with making a big lunch for everyone and hosting. I would host every week if it were not for that. So, I will volenteer for next week any day. I am willing to do whatever for the food. So I guess when we get an overall consensus on that we'll know a little more. Feel free to list my blog site :)

  7. Hey guys I am still totally up for play date. Any day but Tue. works well for me. I am up for hosting once it gets warmer. It's will be better for me if the kids can go outside just because Jefferson works nights. Also, I think potluck is a great idea.

  8. Lets plan next week on Wed. the 15th at 11:30 at my house. Bring your children already fed. I will provide cookies or something. Anyone is welcome to bring something if you want...but it is not required. Call me if you need directions. RSVP to this web site, and lets hope for a nice day outside :)

  9. Thanks for the update. I already had playdates set up with some high school friends on Mondays for the past year so I would love Wed. or Fridays. I'm willing to host as well but would prefer a potluck or I'll provide snacks if lunch is already eaten before you come. I hope we can also use this blog to RSVP to have more of a general idea of how many are coming. Hope to see you all soon. (Anna-I'll be there on Wed the 15th)

  10. We need to kind of figure something out for the future play dates. We have already had several women that have hosted that have provided a lunch for everyone. I think everyone is pretty much okay with doing potlucks in the future, depending on the hostess, but should we have a theme and assignments so we don't end up with 5 desserts? I know when I hosted I did a taco bar and probably spent $15, but if I bring something, it will probably average $3-5 everytime, so then I end up spending $20 a month rather than $15 every 9 weeks. So I need to get some ideas on what you all want to do. Also if we just want to eliminate lunch all together, then we need to plan play dates before or after lunch time, not during. Okay, comment time.
